Being a new mother brings women a variety of emotions that are often not mentioned among friends and family. Having a baby is “supposed” to be wonderful and the bonds are “supposed” to be automatic, but what happens when reality sets in and the things you are “supposed” to feel about motherhood don’t automatically appear? It is important to understand that you are not alone and as many as 1 in 7 women experience peripartum depression.
I work with new mothers on building bonds with their infants while also empathizing with the challenges of taking on this new, incredibly important role. Infants/young children (under 18 months) are welcomed and encouraged to attend with you if you would feel comfortable.
