Teaghlach Counseling specializes in working with children and adolescents experiencing a variety of challenges including behavior, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts and family change & dynamics. I use age-appropriate activities and conversations to teach children and adolescents about their brains, how our brain impacts our behavior and the power of our brain to change and grow.
When children can identify what is happening in their brain and draw from the internal and external cues their own body gives, they can begin to build a toolbox of strategies to regulate themselves and improve their overall wellbeing independently. If needed, I can also work together with parents to create support plans to be used at home to address the needs of their child(ren).
I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), play therapy techniques and neurological psychoeducation to support children in a developmentally appropriate way.
